The merger between IGG Component Technology Ltd. from the United Kingdom and Tecnologica, Ingenieria, Calidad y Ensayos, S.A. from Spain took place at the end of December 2006 and was followed by the acquisition of Top Rel S.r.l. from Italy. Previously, the French company SAS HI REX Engineering based in Toulouse, was acquired by Tecnologica in 2001. All four companies are now all grouped under a new holding company named ALTER Technology Group. | |||
This regrouping brings together four leaders in the European market for high reliability electronic components engineering, testing and procurement. We will now be able to provide our customers with a far more extensive range of services, and a much wider geographic coverage, including:
Over the past 15 to 20 years, all four companies have gained extensive experience of working together and co-operating on several main European programmes. We have derived a common long-term strategy to position ALTER Technology Group as a strategic partner for our customers, who themselves are undergoing increasing levels of consolidation and globalization. Our immediate aim is to realise the potential operational synergies within our own combined organisation in order to become much more attractive to our customers. Our geographic spread now allows us to be closer to you and establish a one-stop shop for an increased number of services with increased flexibility and better value-for-money. You will have access to more than 180 specialist experts to assist in the early design phases (optimum component selection, availability, radiation data, problem history records, alerts, etc.) as well as during the advanced project phases (failure analysis, obsolescence management, NCR’s, etc.), consultancy and full outsourcing. Our six laboratories offer a wide range of testing techniques, technologies, capability and capacity. The Board of Directors will be chaired by Sir Ralph Robins, ex Executive-Chairman of Rolls-Royce Plc. The original founder of Tecnologica, Fernando Franco, will act as Chief Executive Officer. All four companies will continue to operate under their present trade names and it should not be any changes with respect to any ongoing orders or contracts. So as far as our customers are concerned, everything will be “business as usual” for all normal day-to-day issues and requirements. Our goal is purely to serve our customers better by becoming, over time, a more important, better integrated and more strategic partner. |
